Venetia's Coffee Shop
Venetia's is the type of place you'd be happy to stumble upon while out on a stroll. Small and inviting, it's a decent addition to the neighbourhood. Look at for their spacious back patio. Sandwiches are the name of the game here - and they make a satisfying, quick lunch. You'll find classic paninis alongside more creative sourdough options, like the halloumi and chorizo with roast peppers and hummus.

**Unpublished as it closed in August 2017** Healthy, seasonal breakfast and lunch is the name of the game at this Clerkenwell cafe housed inside an old print house. Buzzy with a mix of ambling hotel residents and casual business rendez-vousing, it's a nice alternative to other rush in-n-out cafes in the area. Come early for coffee and homemade granola, fill up on seasonal lunches such as butternut squash and coconut soup or feed your midday munchies with gluten-free chocolate mud cake.
*Closed April 2017 Bringing the bumping vibes of Sao Paulo to London, this buzzing little coffee shop is nestled bang in the middle of Leather Lane Market. This relaxed little corner of the capital is a hub for creatives looking to get their head down and enjoy a speciality caffeine fix. With a warm, homely feel, tattooed baristas and honest food this place is the definition of inviting.
Cozy, no-frills, affordable, quality coffee and food is pretty much all you can ask for from a neighbourhood joint, and Coffee Corner delivers on all fronts. The cafe is pretty tiny, but they've got a nice selection of crepes, sandwiches, salads, and daily lunch specials which can be eaten in or grabbed to go. The best part though is probably that it's open at the crack of dawn, ready to fuel all you early-risers with your caffeinated lifeblood before work (the coffee won't disappoint, and there's a nice variety of fresh juices and loose-leaf teas for all you non-coffee drinkers).
Out of the Brew
A latecomer to New Cross' burgeoning cafe scene - but a welcome one - this little cafe is instantly recognisable due to its bright, Tiffany-blue exterior. Inside, you'll find Goldsmiths students tac-tac-tacking away at their laptops, a selection of craft beers, and some pretty decent coffee. In the summer, their back garden is perfect for a little bevvy in the sun.
