Tapas Brindisa - Battersea
Tapas-style small plates might be the new norm but it wasn't always that way, honestly. Tapas Brindisa's Borough Market outpost was one of the first, and they do what they do pretty well. The food is good quality and reflects everything you know and like about Spanish cuisine, with freshly prepared dishes featuring that gambas al ajillo, pulpo a la gallega, arroz negro and, for you comfort seekers, patatas bravas. Add G&Ts and a strong list of wines, sherry and liqueurs and you've got yourself the makings of a good evening. The only drawback is bang for your buck - it's a little steep for not huge portions. But you're in Battersea now, baby - the Power Station development is looming behind you and there's a gorgeous river view from this terrace and you're starting to think you might be able to afford the finer things in life.
