The Prince Regent
Dominating a significant patch of the Dulwich Road strip, Prince Regent is a solid, 7-out-of-10 boozer that does what it does without fuss, fancy of frills. The Victorian stylings of the original public house are still refreshingly visible and it's no surprise that this watering hole can get real busy come weekends as the great, good and well-dressed folk of Herne Hill make their way in. What are they drawn to? Well the guest ales are pretty dope; there's a terrace outside for standing that comes in handy in summer; there are multiple booths just made for board games; and the food is very much of the gastro variety. If we say, 'rump of lamb with dauphinoise potato, ratatouille and tapenade jus', you'll know what we mean. If you want to eat, book ahead; if you want to drink, go ahead.
