London Fields Lido
After what feels like a horrible eternity, London Fields lido is back up and running. This is the rarest of gems in London: a heated 50m outdoor pool with decent facilities to boot where inconceivably spritely speedo-clad swimmers glide up and down the lanes without losing their breath. They have swimming lessons for children and adults, a sunbathing area, cafe and swimfit sessions too. It gets super busy here in the summer and is probably best avoided on hot days.

London Fields Fitness Studio
There are plenty of fit and flexible sorts knocking around London Fields and this place might be the reason why. Run by Sapan, this gym and fitness studio hidden away beneath the arches on Mentmore Terrace put on plenty of classes including spin cycling, weekend boot camps, vinyasa yoga, pilates and a menacing-sounding warriors circuit. No joining fee or costly memberships - drop in and take part in a class which are normally between £5-10. There's also a £20 monthly pass which'll let you go to as many as you like - though booking might be required.
After a big old refurb in 2013, this Olympic sized 50m pool is heated and has two big sun terraces for lounging, a cafe and gym on site. Price for a dip is £6 on the door or £5 online so maybe book ahead to save yourself that nugget.

Parliament Hill Lido
Built in 1938 with a refurb in 2005, this swimming spot is a 60 x 27 metre uncovered and unheated pool. It's got a stainless steel pool lining which creates a real nice reflective blue effect in the water and doesn't tend to get too busy unless it's one of those hot summer days. Inside the lido area is a cafe and plenty of space to lounge about in. Check the timings on the website as they are liable to change. Oh and it costs £6 to enter.
