Kricket started life in a shipping container in Pop Brixton, then moved to a bigger spot in Soho - where it sadly lost some of its charm. Good news for charm hunters though, Kricket is now back in Briccy with a second outpost under the arches. Inspired by time spent living and working in Mumbai, Kricket is all about seasonal, modern, Indian plates (small ones) made with British ingredients. Order a flurry of colourful dishes served in charming, wonky bowls: top of our agenda was the Keralan fried chicken with curry leaf mayonnaise and pickled mouli; and the moreish samphire pakoras with tangy date and tamarind chutney. Finish up with a traditional Indian dessert like the carrot halwa with pistachio ice cream and pecans. Other things that are absolutely banging here include: brunch, cocktails, warming cups of masala chai, and life in general. Sundays here are for feasting on large meaty joints, spiced up to the nines, veggies, roast taties and (instead of Yorkshire puds) parathas. Scrummy.
