Jeremie Cometto-Lingenheim and David Gingell, the chaps behind Westerns Laundry, decided Newington Green needed a bakery and brunch spot - and the people responded. Filled to the brim with weekend punters, this bright, airy spot is set up with large sharing tables and plenty of counter seating overlooking the open kitchen. The bakery side of things churns out pastries, sausage rolls, madeleines, palmiers, cinnamon buns and all sorts of artisanal breads. And the restaurant side of things brings wholesome brunches, later followed by classy plates of stuffed pasta, steak or seasonal veggies. And all washed down with the prerequisite natural wine of course. You'll be pleased to hear that produce is taken mighty seriously here: meat, fish and veg is all ethically sourced; everything is cooked on-site from scratch erry day; and grains for breads, pastries and fresh pastas are milled on-site as well (fancy) which apparently preserves all that flavour and health (noice).
