El Garito is so darn discreet you’re half expecting the bartender to give you a round of applause for finding it when you come through the door. It's a diminutive, angular nook that feels like it might have been a broom-closet before someone had the bright idea to turn it into a romantic lil' money maker. And it is romantic and very, very intimate - if you've got secrets you don't want strangers knowing, don't come here and let that tongue get loose. Cocktails is the rub, and the menu is reassuringly short - five or six very different, strong concoctions to be enjoyed on a high stool, whilst appearing wistful. Dim, dark and cosy, it's got the special 'hidden gem' vibe that would make it ideal for the first or second date flex. We did spy the charcuterie but would probably tip just sticking to the drinks.
