The scene is firing on all cylinders this week. Not only is there a brand new event (with a FOCing priceless name), but also three scrumptious Friday night festivities to sink your fangs into. How does a night of Beyoncé sound? (Calm down, she's not actually here.) Or how about a costume rave with the delectable Shay Shay? Whatever you go for, drink reasonably responsibly and remember to be extra nice to each other.
The word around town is a bunch of femmes are coming to FOC things up. The new event features Femmes Of Colour (hence the name) doing their comedy schtick. Self-identified women, non-binary or more feminine-of-centre folks will be gassin' you up with bare jokes before you get to join in a likkle dance ting until 11pm.
Phat is phabulous. Phat is sexy, voluptuous, curvaceous, and gorgeous. And if you don't believe us, you really need to check out this event by Sex+ which will be debunking myths about fat bodies by way of a panel discussion and some fat-tastic cabaret.
For some people, and we don't mind including ourselves among that number, Beyoncé is a religion. Our sycophancy will have an outlet this week at a special edition of Push The Button honouring the cult of Yoncé. So whip on a pair of Deréon jeans, order a tall glass of Lemonade, and get you some life by brukkin' out to all the Queen's hits.
Time to Butch-er another night on the tiles with a special (albeit belated) Valentine's instalment of Butch, Please. The pre-eminent night for ladies who love is back and the air is thick with pheromones... mmm, delish. Be you butch, femme, single or swept up - get down to The Glory for a night of luvin' with your LGBTQ family.
Now we know you love a dress-up shindig, so thank the lawd Shay Shay is back. The dragalicious queen of clubland is hosting a back-in-the-day Fresh Prints-inspired clash bash. All you must do is find the loudest, most garish and colourful prints in your closet and stick them all together.
