Why Music? The Key to Memory 2017
Don't get us wrong, we love all of that independent radio stuff. All the time. Honestly we love the NTS and the Radar and Mr. Balamii and also Rinse, too. But occasionally we mistakenly stumble upon BBC Radio 3 and quite like the soothing classical greeting our ears. Is that so wrong? They've teamed up with the Wellcome Collection again for their annual free weekend exploring the relationship between music and memory. In a nutshell, it's a weekend of discussions, concerts and events that leaves no stone unturned in contemplating what music does to the mind. Plenty of Radio 3's flagship shows will be broadcast live from the space, whilst there's a Saturday evening concert featuring music themed around memory. It's all going to stay in the classical canon but we can't think of many more relaxing, stimulating and thought-provoking ways to spend a couple of hours. All tickets are free and bookable from 29th September.
