When the Xenofeminist Manifesto landed in 2015 it brought non-essentialist feminism to a whole new audience. With an acceptance of the potentials and limitations of technology, the manifesto is a staunch rejection of the sanctity of nature, instead suggesting we change what we consider 'natural' for the benefit of queer, trans, and differently-abled people, women and anyone else that has felt the weight of essentialist naturalism (the glorification of nature) as an opposing force in their lives. To mark the release of its physical publication, Tate Modern is hosting a panel discussion featuring artist Malik Nashad Sharpe; artist Khairani Barokka; member of Laboria Cubonicks, Helen Hester; and Sarah Shin as chair.
