The Great Women Artists: Women on Instagram
Most of us just use Instagram for stellar selfies and bangin’ brunch pics (yes, people do care about our avocado toast thank you very much), but it looks like the more astute among us have put it to better use. The Great Women Artists account was founded in 2015 by Katy Hessel, with the hope of giving young female artists a platform to showcase their creations. 2 years and 8,000 followers later, it's taking the jump from digital to reality with its first exhibition in the basement of Mother London. Showcasing 15 UK-based female artists who have forged their artistic careers through Instagram, expect a range of different media, from printmaking to illustrations, covering themes such as mental health, politics, and race. Tickets are free, but be sure to RSVP. Open to the public this Thursday, otherwise the exhibition can only be seen by appointment 13-17 November.
Tickets: Free with RSVP
