Sean Nicholas Savage
Canada’s most prolific indie balladeer is playing a super intimate show at The Waiting Room. Not only is he a key artist in the rising Montreal scene, but he also shares musical friends in our faves Mac DeMarco, Grimes and Doldrums. It’s sold out, but don’t miss your chance to see this slinky troubadour and find some re-sales that are floating about!
Best Before with Addison Groove
In amongst the vegan cafés, artisan bakeries and furniture shops run by graphic designers, The Waiting Room still manages to squeeze a huge roster of names into its tiled basement week in and week out. Like Mike Skinner, Jamie XX and Four Tet to name a few, and this weekend is no different as Addison Groove steps up. Expect 808 driven techno, old school acid house and maybe a bit of hardcore if you play your cards right.
The Hydra: Ninja Tune with Bonobo - DJ (All Night)
Taking a break from touring his encapsulating live show, Bonobo joins The Hydra at London’s Studio Spaces to demonstrate his stamina behind the decks with a near 7-hour set (minus toilet breaks). While the uninitiated may only know Bonobo’s music from a Vodafone advert, the Ninja Tune mainstay will be delving into all corners of his expansive record bag for what’s been long rumoured to be the party of the year. Expect everything from left field electronica and techno to euphoric house. Tickets have sold out but if you scour Twitter for long enough you might get lucky.
Let's Go Swimming w/ Beatrice Dillon
Adopting a strict tops on policy - but heavy petting allowed - Let's Go Swimming kick off their 2017 with a rare set from techno stalwart Beatrice Dillon. Known for her tough but melodic jazz-techno Dillon will grace the intimate basement of Stokey's favourite Waiting Room - one of our personal favourites too, if you haven't had a chance to party there already. Plus, it's only a fiver so rave on with a guilt-free conscience you will.
