Lucky & Joy Celebrate Chinese New Year
If Chinese food always brings back memories of sticky takeaways and deep regrets, your luck is about to change - just in time for the new year, no less. Ellen Parr and Pete Kelly have been nicking tips from all over this far off country - and will be flogging the tasty results from under the railway arches of Cambridge Heath station. From New Year specialities such as turnip cake with soft egg (for luck), fish in spicy broth (for prosperity) and a whole red braised suckling pig with plum sauce, pickles and bao (for completeness and, well, tastiness), to small plates piled with sizzling broccoli fried in garlic and ginger, and warming sweet potato wontons dressed in chilli vinegar. Expect a good time for your soul and for your belly.
