Eddie Peake: Concrete Pitch
Taking its name from a barren recreation ground up in Finsbury Park and featuring a sculpture named after a high street near Crouch Hill, it’s immediately clear Eddie Peake’s new solo exhibition has got a sweet spot for North London. Makes sense, considering it’s where the multidisciplinary artist calls home. Peake maintains his relevance to modern culture previously seen in his bold spray-paint works and general exhibitionism (like staging a naked five-a-side football match at the Royal Academy) with new abstract sculptures made up of decks and speakers alongside new cardiac-arrest-inducing paintings. The performance element of the show isn’t your typical live art experience either - it’s Peake himself pottering about, accompanied by an online radio show hosted by '90s pirate station Kool FM, all broadcast right from the gallery.
