Asian Dub Foundation: 'La Haine' Live Soundtrack
Not many films have reached the heights of cult stardom that 'La Haine' has, with framed posters on bedroom walls around the world, a standing ovation at Cannes, and a former french prime minister that made his entire cabinet watch it. Following the struggle of 3 young friends in a Paris banlieue, the film explores police brutality, marginalisation and societal disillusionment, and it's one heck of a ride. Asian Dub Foundation had already shown their appreciation for the film with their song ‘La Haine’, but now they’re taking it further with an entirely original soundtrack that they’re performing live alongside a screening. Expect to hear powerful, hard ragga-jungle tunes throbbing around the hall - a stark contrast to the film's originally sparse score - that make for an entirely new viewing experience and highlight the pulsating anger at the core of this cult classic.
