Age of Terror: Art Since 9/11
In the 16 years since 9/11, the art world has routinely tried to contextualise both the violence itself and the fallout from it. Taking a look at these interpretations, The Imperial War Museum has put together a sobering demonstration of the myriad different viewpoints from artists around the world. The show features works from over 40 artists, including Ai Wei Wei and Grayson Perry, and focuses on their responses to war and conflict since the terrorist attacks, as well as addressing the severity of surveillance, paranoia, and the role of the Internet in their wake. In our current political climate of terror and public unrest, we can’t think of a more fittingly sombre exhibition.
